Abstract:
»This study discusses the ways male honour is linked to chastity and corporal integrity of female relatives during wartimes. Based on Muslim sources allowing a glimpse on culture during the Crusades, it examines differences in the depiction of Muslim and Christian gender relations, concluding that the narratives function as anti-Christian polemics.«
